Engage Your Social Media Followers
A lot of direct sellers use Facebook Groups to create a community with their friends, family, customers, and prospective customers. They are a great way to connect with others, showcase your products, and provide value as well. One issue many have is getting their groups to engage. I wrote a little bit about that here as well as tips on how to grow your Facebook group organically.
When I was thinking of different ways to get Facebook groups engaged, I thought about breaking things down by categories and themes of the week. I’ve come up with 4 weekly theme ideas for each category of direct sales companies. If you don’t see yours listed, please send me a message and I’ll get it added!
Health & Wellness
Week 1 Back To Basics: Have your group explore their core struggles. Is it weight related? Food or exercise focused? Whatever the case may be, do a few posts about getting to the root of a daily struggle and having them focus on that for the remainder of the month.
Week 2 A Day In The Life: Use this week to show your community how you incorporate your products into your everyday life. Sometimes behind the scenes and real life photos and stories of how you use your products are far more valuable than just a picture of a product. This will encourage your community to interact, ask questions, and you will form a deeper connection with your members.
Week 3 Open Forum: Now that your community has been engaging for the past 2 weeks, encourage them to ask questions. What are they interested in learning more about? What things are they stuck on and how can your product help them?
Week 4 Self-Care Success: Come up with fun ways to promote self-care. Share a picture or personal story of how you take time for yourself. Encourage your community to share a picture or describe what self-care means to them.
Jewelry & Accessories
Week 1 Everyday Wear: Have a little fun and show your community how easy it is to brighten up a basic day look with some simple jewelry or accessories. Encourage your group to share their favorite piece that they never leave the house without wearing.
Week 2 Let’s Get Organized: Do you have a clever way of organizing or showcasing all of your jewelry and accessories? Are you looking to try out a new way of keeping your products neat and tidy? Show your group how you personally store and showcase all of your jewelry and accessories by jumping on Facebook Live or uploading a video.
Week 3 Keep It Clean: Most jewelry and accessory companies have great instructions on how best to keep the items clean, but most customers do not know about this information. Use this week to highlight these instructions along with some fun engagement posts.
Week 4 Date Night Out: Plan on having a night out and bring your Facebook group along for the ride. Have them choose what you will wear, what jewelry and accessories will go with the outfit they chose, and even have them suggest places for you to go or things to do. Everyone loves to share their stories and give their opinions on things!
Clothes & Fashion
Week 1 Step By Step: Many customers new to the clothing and fashion direct sales world may feel a bit shy about choosing outfits with different pattern mixes or contrasting colors. Start off small by suggesting the best top or best skirt that go with basics that are in most everyone’s’ closets. Work your way throughout the week and show how you decide which patterns work well together.
Week 2 Color Wheel: Highlight a different shade of color each day of the week! Teach your community what colors work best and why. Play a little game by showcasing one item of clothing and asking your group which complimentary items look best. Have fun with this one!
Week 3 Seasonal Tips: Think about layers and ways to dress for different types of weather. Your Facebook group may have members from all across the country, this week would be great to highlight the best outfits for the weather in major cities across the country.
Week 4 Fashion Show: Everyone loves to share pictures of their lovely fashionable outfits! Choose a few customers to highlight (with their permission) and encourage the rest of your group to join in. Maybe even set up a virtual Fashion Show Epic Facebook Party to finish off the month!
Cookware & Food
Week 1 Guess The Gadget: Play a lot of games this week to get your Facebook group engaged. Create original graphics highlighting some underused gadgets or food products that not many customers know about.
Week 2 Cheap & Cheerful: Do you have recipes that you love to use because they don’t involve a lot of ingredients? Maybe they use less expensive food products and feed a large family. Take some time showcasing a few of these recipes with your community, send samples to those who would like them, and ask them for feedback. Another spin on this idea is to do a weekly series of favorite recipes. Meatless Monday, Taco Tuesday, etc.
Week 3 Dinnertime Fails: Have some fun this week and share a little behind the scenes action in your own kitchen. Place a side by side picture of what the recipe looked like versus your own homemade version. Get your community talking by having them share their own dinnertime fails stories!
Week 4 Personal Chef: End the month by playing personal chef. What recipes do your members what to try out? What products would be helpful to those in your group? Cap it off with a mystery hostess Facebook party and your members will be thrilled at the opportunity to win some great rewards!
Makeup & Skincare
Week 1 Fresh Faced: Be daring and share your “blank canvas” with your group. Go make-up and skincare free and share with your community what pulled you to join the company you represent.
Week 2 Daily Routine: Share a beauty routine for the person who has 5 minutes in the morning. A routine for the person who has 10 minutes, 20 minutes, etc. Sharing one skin care or makeup tutorial that takes 20 minutes to master will not connect with those in your Facebook group that only have 5 minutes in the morning to splash a little water on their face. Focus on a certain time limit each day of this week and connect with all of your members.
Week 3 Tips & Tools: What are your best makeup and skincare tips that you follow daily? Weekly? Share the actual tools you use and the best ways to keep them clean and stored neatly.
Week 4 All Made Up: Have some fun this week! Share the best ways to pamper yourself and what products you use when you do have the extra time to do a once a week treatment or put on your evening makeup. Have your Facebook members share their own photos of what they do to make themselves feel dressed up or pampered.
I hope these ideas have set off lightbulbs for you! These topics will be sure to engage your social media followers! When you approach your social media schedule by breaking it down into weekly themes, you will find yourself eager to get your original graphics made and scheduled.
These ideas are repeatable month after month! Consider capping the end of each month with an in-home or Facebook party to continue your direct sales success time and time again.
