What Is Microblogging: Part 1 of 4 Microblogging Series

Recently, I wrote a post about how I use Pinterest and my Microblog at Sassy Direct to stay active with my Origami Owl business. Since that post, I’ve had a lot of questions about Sassy Direct and specifically what is microblogging and how a direct seller can benefit from doing it.

I have taken the time to really dive into the topic of microblogging and why you should be doing it as a direct seller, what to microblog about, and how it benefits your direct sales business overall. This part 1 of 4 in the microblogging series focuses on what is microblogging. Let’s take a look!

What is microblogging and why do direct sellers need to do it? Take a look at part 1 of 4 about what is microblogging and Sassy Direct for direct sellers. Kristy Empol

Sassy Direct

For the direct sales world, the only (and best) microblogging platform out there is Sassy Direct. Created by Brenda Ster and the Sassy Suite team, it is a one of a kind directory for direct sellers. Having a profile on the Sassy Direct platform means your business and contact information is central in one spot. There are 3 levels of membership with Sassy Direct so let’s break down each level and see where microblogging comes in.

Sassy Direct Standard

The Standard plan with Sassy Direct gives you a FREE basic directory listing. You are able to pick 3 categories to list your business under. One would be your main industry category and one sub-category including your direct sales company. Having your profile even at the Standard level is a way to be seen and get found by locals in your area doing a search for direct sales products and consultants.

Sassy Direct Featured

The Featured plan with Sassy Direct includes the listing features from the Standard level, plus you are able to list your business under 10 categories. You also have the ability to list all of your business details including your location, phone number, and social media and website links.

Another benefit is the ability to upload 2 audio or video files and 2 photo albums. Think of all of the seasonal products your direct sales company releases. Create a video or photo album to share on your Facebook business page and funnel fresh eyes over to your Sassy Direct profile.

Sassy Direct Premium

This is where it’s at. I’ve been a Sassy Direct Premium Member from the beginning  (see the nifty badge at the bottom of my website?) and I can tell you, the value you receive from the Premium level is stellar. Not only do you have access to list your business and contact information, you are able to receive reviews as well. Think of all of your lovely customers and members of your VIP group. Those are fabulous reviews waiting to be written!

Now onto the microblogging feature. Microblogging simply means you are writing articles (blog posts) and publishing them on the Sassy Direct platform. That’s it! If the financial cost or technical set-up of having a blog is overwhelming, the Premium level of Sassy Direct is a great way to ease yourself into the world of blogging.

Not only do you have the ability to publish up to 50 microblog posts, you have access to a private Facebook group for support. The team at Sassy Direct also love to feature Premium members on their social media channels and on the Sassy Direct website as well. They even put together seasonal gift guides and Sassy Direct Premium members are featured in those as well.

The process of writing and publishing your microblog articles on Sassy Direct is easy and within no time, you can build up a great library of blog posts related to your direct sales business and its products and services. Great tips! I will definitely share with my team. Having your own blog is a great way to own your content no matter which company you represent and especially important if you ever move on to another company because the link to your blog will always be yours.

Thank you, Janette! It is true, having a blog also means you are not affected by Facebook algorithms and other changes to social media. Hope your team enjoys the Microblogging series!
