I love to scroll through Instagram and see all of my direct sales friends who are workin’ it! Consistently posting, engaging with others, and creating awesome Instagram grids. But, how exactly do they do that? Want to create an Instagram grid for your direct sales Instagram profile? Let’s take a look at how they do it.
#ButFirst
So what’s the deal with Instagram grids anyway? You may loathe them, you may love them! Whatever side you are on, an Instagram grid is something that makes your followers stop and take notice.
It shows you, as a direct seller, are intentional about your Instagram feed. It shows you have consistency, and it shows you have creativity.
You never know who is scrolling through and seeing your Instagram posts.

Easy As 1, 2…
It seems difficult at first, but once you see everything laid out, it’s pretty easy. It all comes down to patterns.
The easiest Instagram grid to create is a checkerboard effect.
To achieve this on your own direct sales Instagram feed, alternate similar looking posts. This could be a picture, then a quote, and you continue that pattern.
Or you could post a picture and a flat lay of your product. Really easy, and super striking.
Line It Up
Another way to create a cohesive grid is by posting in a pattern to create columns.
To get a column effect, you just post similar looking posts in a 1,2,3 pattern. In my example above, I had a photo, a call to action post that directed my followers to a blog post, then the next day I posted a quote.
Think about how you might create a column incorporating posts about your product, yourself, and purposeful tips for your followers.
Diagon Alley
Diagonally that is! 😉
To make any other Instagram grids, just think about what pattern you are trying to achieve. To have posts that line up in diagonal form, you will want to post a similar looking photo or graphic every 4th post.
If the thought of creating grids, posting consistently, and sticking to it feels overwhelming, I’ve got a great tool for you.

I saw the checkerboard on someone’s account and I LOVE it…I want to do this with my account:)
That is great, Kim! Start with posting once a day and alternating your posts and you’ll see a checkerboard come together! You can do it 🙂
