I frequently get asked if having a blog for my direct sales business is worth the time. The short answer, absolutely!
I have monthly sales from customers and new team mates I have never met or had contact with as a direct result of my blog.
This also got me thinking of all the ways you can monetize your website. I have listed 5 ways to monetize your blog, specifically for direct sellers! Have a look…
Your Own Direct Sales Products and Services
Having a blog and writing about your direct sales products is the best way to monetize your blog. Keep it simple, write about individual products or new collections and link back frequently to your replicated website.
For those who have a direct sales business that does not operate from a replicated website, you need a great funnel strategy.
Use your blog posts to give readers a taste of your products and company and direct them to follow you on your social media channels. Send your readers where your community is and where the magic happens!
Affiliate Income
Another way to monetize your direct sales blog is by being an affiliate for other products and services. Think of all the tools and products you use to run your successful direct sales business. Chances are, there is an affiliate program out there for you to join.
Share your personal recommendations of services, tools and, products you use. Out of the avenues that I am an affiliate for, these 3 bring in the most passive income each month.
Sassy Suite: Founded by Brenda Ster, The Socialite Suite is the best resource on Facebook and the web for direct sellers. Join the group, browse the training and coaching sessions, and watch your business take off!
CinchShare: One of the best social media schedulers available specifically for direct sellers. The platform will transform the way you do Facebook parties and will ensure you keep your Facebook group engaged.
Amazon: Being an affiliate with Amazon means you can earn money from any product you recommend from its website. Books, vendor event staples, and selfie rings. If you find it on Amazon, recommend it to your readers and earn affiliate income.
Ads
Ads…some love them, some hate them. I have found a great ad revenue company to partner with for my website.
They tailor high-quality flight ads for my blog. Their “pay per view” ads are one of the easiest ways I earn $300+ each month just for having them on my site.
Passive income indeed!
Google AdSense is another one of the most popular ad sites to use. Display targeted ads on your website and earn money each time a reader clicks through. This isn’t a lot of money in the beginning, but as your viewership grows, your ad income will grow along with it.
Another option is offering ad space on your website. For a small monthly fee, you may feature other consultants in your business or complimentary products. This is entirely up to you!
Digital Services
This is definitely one of the best ways to monetize your blog. Create your own digital products or services! Think E-books, coaching services, downloadable printables. The sky is the limit!
If you are creative, think of a product your audience would appreciate and look forward to purchasing. Maybe it is an in-depth style guide. Or printable planner sheets and trackers. Run with it, create and share it with your audience.
For example, I use Teachable to create digital courses.
I created Advanced Pinterest Strategies for those who are currently using Pinterest for their business but are looking for more advanced tips on just how to use Pinterest and create a pinning schedule.
Is there an aspect of your business that others always ask, “HOW do you do that?”. Use that as inspiration for your own digital course!
Sponsored Posts and Product Reviews
Once you build a following and are receiving a high number of page views a month, it is absolutely possible to turn this into a monetization opportunity.
Building relationships with other bloggers and brands will help open the door to sponsored posts and product reviews. The payment may be monetary or a product in exchange for an unbiased honest review.
The key is to stay true to your readers, your writing, and by providing the best content possible.
As always, it is best to be clear on your direct sales company’s policies and procedures. Read up on what you can (and can’t!) do when it comes to having a direct sales blog.
