How to Store Java Momma Coffee
Whether you have signed up to be a Java Momma Consultant, or are in love with one of the many Java Momma coffee flavors, storing your coffee is key!
There are a few things to remember when you think of how to store Java Momma Coffee. With coffee beans and freshly ground coffee, you will want to avoid exposing your coffee to:
- Air
- Heat
- Light
- Moisture
Let’s dive a little deeper into where and how to store your Java Momma Coffee!
Location, Location, Location
One of the best places to store your coffee is in a dark pantry or kitchen cupboard. Pay particular attention to where the pantry or cupboard is. Try and avoid ones that are near the oven where there is a risk of being exposed to heat.
If you love to store your coffee and have it accessible on your countertop, be sure to use an opaque, airtight container. Choose a spot that stays out of the sunlight and away from the heat of an oven or stove.
Coffee Beans vs. Freshly Ground
Coffee beans stay fresher for longer compared to freshly ground coffee. It is best to store your coffee beans and freshly grind them when you are ready to make a great pot of coffee.
Whole coffee beans are best used within one month of roasting. Ground coffee is best used within 1-2 weeks.
Contrary to popular belief, it is best to keep any coffee out of the fridge and freezer. The cold environment breaks down some of the oils in the coffee and will alter the flavor and freshness of the beans.
