Pinterest Secret Boards
You may know about my slight (ok major) obsession with all things Pinterest! It has become a HUGE part of my direct sales business.
I’ve used secret boards on Pinterest for awhile now and realized 5 pretty clever ways you can use secret boards on Pinterest for your direct sales business.
Trust me, you’ll want to read about idea #5…
Recreate
Pinterest is fantastic for competitive research. If you run out of ideas for original pins to make for your account, create a secret board titled “Pins To Recreate”.
On this secret board, pin all of the pins you find that apply to your direct sales company. Or any aspect of your direct sales business, for that matter.
I have used this example before, but it is a great one! This pin would be fantastic for makeup direct sellers to recreate.
Start pinning to your secret board and when you get a good block of time, use those pins as “pinspiration” for your own original pins.
Team Board
If you have a direct sales team, having a secret board on Pinterest is a fantastic way to share brand-specific ideas and direct sales tips.
As a direct sales team leader, it’s important for you to provide helpful tips and information that your team can implement. Set up a secret board and invite your teammates to collaborate. This makes it possible for everyone to contribute to this secret board.
Pins here can then be discussed over a team call or monthly Zoom. Focus on which pins you find helpful to your business and share so others can be successful in their business.
Hostess Party Ideas
Are you planning an in-home or online Facebook party? Wondering what theme to do or even what dishes to serve your guests?
Set up a secret Pinterest board and invite your hostess to collaborate! Use the pins she pins to this secret board as inspiration for your direct sales party.
Your hostess may also pin brand specific pins so you get a feel as to which products she would like to be the highlight of the party. Set up a short phone call or video call and go over what ideas she has pinned. Collaborating with your hostess will ensure a successful direct sales party!
Branded Pins
Having your own personal brand when it comes to your direct sales business is really powerful. It sets you apart from the sea of other consultants, and it makes relationship building that much easier.
Creating your own branded pins and having them all pinned to a secret board will make your pinning life much easier. For every pin you create with your own personal branding style, pin it to a secret board called “My Branded Pins”.
Each week, pull pins from this secret board and pin to group boards. This will dramatically increase the reach of your pins and increase the repin rate.
Not quite sure how to find group boards to join? Be sure to bookmark my post about group boards for later.
Pin Pool
This last way to use secret boards on Pinterest is sure to help you avoid that 4-hour rabbit hole you dive down each time you open the Pinterest app.
Once a week, take some time to pin to a secret “Pin Pool” board. This board will house all of the pins that eventually will go onto boards on your account.
For example, I have boards devoted to Direct Sales Tips, Instagram Tips, and Pinterest Tips. Pins that fit either of these categories would go to the secret “Pin Pool” board so that each day I can quickly visit Pinterest, pin 10 pins to those boards.
This alleviates the time spent going deep down the Pinterest rabbit hole to find pins. Having a secret board of relevant pins will make it easier to incorporate Pinterest into your everyday routine.
5 Ways To Use Pinterest for your Direct Sales Business
To recap, you can use secret boards on Pinterest for:
- Recreation Ideas
- Team Building
- Hostess Ideas
- Your Own Branded Pins
- Pin Pool
Now, if you take things one step further, you may be wondering if there is a way to make life a little easier when it comes to Pinterest.
There is!
I utilize Board Booster, a Pinterest scheduling tool.
It helps me to consistently pin each day. I utilize the scheduling feature which incorporates secret boards on Pinterest. It especially comes in handy when I have pins that apply to many different boards on my account.
For $5.00 a month, you can pin 500 pins. That averages out to about 16 pins a day.
I suggest signing up for your account HERE and trying one month for free. That’s 500 pins that you can strategically schedule your account.
Set it up once and I am positive you will see the benefits after the first 30 days. Not to mention the time you will save by not falling down the Pinterest rabbit hole!
