Pincodes on Pinterest
You may know my slight obsession with anything and everything Pinterest.
It’s true.
It’s my absolute favorite platform to use for my direct sales business. My Origami Owl business and my Java Momma Coffee business run exclusively using Pinterest and a blog.
If you’re interested in HOW I do that, be sure to read THIS POST.
That said, I’m always thinking about ways to use all of the features Pinterest offers.
Pincodes for Pinterest is a relatively new thing and there are a few ways you should use them.
What are Pincodes
Pincodes are kind of like a QR code.
It is a special image that when viewed on Pinterest, will take you to a specific Pinterest board or Pinterest user.
It is an easy way to discover new things by using the camera feature within Pinterest!
How to create Pincodes on Pinterest
To create your own Pincode on Pinterest, the first step is to go to any of your Pinterest boards.
At the top, you will notice a little icon. I’ve pointed it out above. Click on this icon to begin creating your Pincode.
You will find options below to change the image for your Pincode. Once you have the image you like, click “Create Pincode. A copy of the Pincode will be saved to your photo album on your phone.
To test your Pincode to make sure it works properly follow the instructions below using the Pincode I created.
Open Pinterest App and in the upper right, click the Pinterest Camera icon.
Point your phone at the Pincode above to instantly access the Direct Sales Training Board.
Magical!
Ways to Use Pincodes
Now that you know how to create this fun little tool, let’s look at ways to use Pincodes on Pinterest for your direct sales business.
Vendor Events
Having a large printout of your Pinterest Profile Pincode would make it really easy for visitors to follow you on Pinterest.
Think about incorporating a giveaway for those who successfully use the Pincode and follow your profile.
Another way to use a Pincode at an event would be to create a special board for the products you plan to display. That way, a visitor would scan your Pincode and be brought to the Pinterest board that has all of your product pins.
An easy way to click and shop!
Seasonal Products
I love to create seasonal collections of my direct sales products and incorporate those boards into my Pinterest strategy.
Create special groupings of products based on seasons or collections and share the Pincode on your business page or inside your Facebook group.
Make it easy for your customers to find new collections!
Team Group Secret Board
Another idea is to create a secret board for your direct sales team.
You can fill this secret board with pins that would help them in their businesses. Simply post the Pincode image within your group so members can easily find and follow the board.
Post the Pincode whenever you have added new pins. Get your team engaged and excited to learn more about how to build their business!
Social Media Scavenger Hunt
If you have done a social media scavenger hunt before, a Pincode may be a great addition to your next one.
Create a Pincode for a secret board filled with unique pins or use it as an opportunity for your followers to follow your Pinterest profile.
